With its gorgeous, highly reputed natural environment, a priority is to develop eco-friendly, alternative means of transport in order to:
- Respect our natural heritage by limiting our environmental footprint.
- Promote our natural heritage by letting visitors explore it using an eco-friendly means of transport.
- Manage visitor flow by limiting the number of motorised vehicles.
The "Côte Picarde à Vélo" / "Somme à Vélo (Picardy Coast by bicycle/ Somme by bicycle)" network falls within these plans and aims to promote Somme Bay and Somme Valley tourist destinations by offering a top-quality welcome in line with cyclist expectations on the Picardy coast and in the Somme Valley, indicating the level of services expected in line with member activity.
