The Franco-British Cycle Plan
The layout

The Cycle Plan works blend into the countryside and are not imposing

The width of the track is +/- 2.80 m, depending on the area available. With regard to the landscaping, the plant selection used to accompany the track has taken the existing environment into account. In order to facilitate the crossing of ditches/canals, wooden footbridges (or timber staging) have been favoured, as opposed to ducts. The tracks have also been enclosed with fencing to ensure the safety of cyclists and/or the protection of the natural environment. In the most urban sectors, pedestrian footpaths have been made all along the track.

Example of the surfaces :

Concrete was chosen for its many qualities:
   > resisting loads and sustainable over time,
   > recyclable and neutral in comparison with bituminous products.
   > locally available.
   >
reduced maintenance costs
